Rainbow Manor is a day care centre for eleven months to three plus year olds located at Plot 190b Prince Ade Odedina Street, off Sinari Daranijo Street (the junction linked to Halliburton) or off Jide Oki Street when coming from Ligali Ayorinde Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. Open from 6.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday.
At Rainbow Manor, we are committed to giving the best care and love to children in our care, whilst
providing them with every opportunity for growth and learning and to provide their parents with help in the exact manner in which they wish their children to be raised.
We aim to provide a dynamic, independent learning environment that is hands-on and child-driven. Children develop inner- discipline, a love of learning, and learn at their own pace guided by the Rainbow Manor technique, which promotes individual initiative and creativity.
Our Primary Goals are Safety and Learning. Whilst at Rainbow Manor the children are under effective supervision at all times to ensure their safety, well being and development. The Program Director plays a very pivotal and active role in the daily delivery and administration of the program. She is physically present to ensure that all the primary staff observes children’s play and behaviour, both indoors and outdoors. She works alongside the primary staff and so she is in a position to directly observe the primary staff, which allows for immediate, constructive and accurate feedback.
Each child is helped to reach their full potential in all areas of life. This is called the “whole child” approach to learning. Activities promote the development of social skills, emotional growth, and physical coordination as well as cognitive preparation. The holistic curriculum allows the child to experience the joy of learning and to develop self-esteem and independence. Children use materials such as concrete objects, tactile experiments, collection, classification, and identification, designed to assist growth in practical life. The children readily take up this reality-based purposeful “work” designed to develop mental and manual dexterity whilst developing the tools for life such as the arts, music, mathematics, science, culture and creativity.
