In every other way, Elizabeth Raine is the normal US student: at 5’10” and 130lb, she’s 27 years old, studies medicine, states that she has good grades and is hardworking, and she’s also still a virgin and willing to sell that virginity to the highest bidder.
Elizabeth, which is not her real name but states that you can call her “Liz” is hoping to pocket at least $400,000 (£242,000) from the transaction online. The student has created her own website which features pictures of her in a variety of poses wearing only skimpy figure fitting dresses and lingerie with her face hidden. She promises there that she will provide the person who tops the auction with a 12 hour date during which she will offer them her virginity.
Women in the past have offered similar auctions, including a Brazilian model, Catarina Migliorini, whose virginity auctions have fallen through twice.
Elizabeth plans to donate 35% of the money that she receives from the highest bidder to a charity which provides education for women in developing countries.
While she believes that it is anyone’s decision to make, Raine at least does not recommend younger girls getting involved in this sort of auction: “It is my strongest belief that young girls have no business whatsoever selling virginity. Even just a few years ago I would not have been prepared for this experience myself.”
She continues that she has thought through the decision to sell her virginity very carefully and despite being very passionate about her career, she still wants to go ahead with it, saying that otherwise: “[I] would feel like a coward, and this [I] am not.”
