NGF Crisis: Amaechi Vows Not To Step Down, Pledges Loyalty To Jonathan

The controversy over who heads the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) may not end soon as Rivers state governor, Chibuike Amaechi, has vowed not to step down as the chairman of his faction of the forum

Addressing journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, Mr Amaechi explained that his mandate was freely given by the governors, who are representatives of the people.
Amaechi’s reaction is coming after the Jonah Jang led faction explained the circumstances around the election that the Rivers state governor is claiming.
Vice Chairman of the Jonah led faction, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, claimed that Amaechi imposed the controversial election on all the governors.
He however pledged his loyalty to President Goodluck Jonathan and all the governors, insisting that there was never a consensus candidate for the election because none of the candidates agreed to step down for the other.
He also spoke on the emergence of posters announcing his ambition to run for Vice President, saying they are the hand work of mischief makers.
