Also in Ajegunle area in Lagos, The incident was reported to be caused by a welder who was
constructing an iron cage for the storage of petroleum products in one of the buildings for a black market dealer .Some occupants of the affected buildings sustained varying degrees of injuries, Efforts to contain the fire prove abortive as it spreed rapidly , engulfing the entire building and spread to the other areas, affecting Orodu Street. which was the palace of the Baale of the area .In all the affected areas, no life was reportedly lost however, properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed in the inferno.
Harmattan is a period that people usually feel a huge relieve from the scotching heat of the sun that accompanies the previous season, but dryness of the weather and the wind that comes with dust often override its coolness. And the resultant effect of this dryness is what makes fire outbreaks spread easily, which is why more fire incidents are often recorded during the season.
Everyone should be more careful this season to prevent more disasters.
