Jonathan Appoints Bode George’s Wife as NDLEA DG

President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday appointed Mrs. Roli Bode-George, as the Director-General of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

She is to take over from Mr. Olufemi Ajayi, who was appointed as the new Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF).

The appointment is with immediate effect.
The new NDLEA boss, is the wife of a former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Bode George, who was convicted for fraud while holding sway at the Nigeria Port Authority (NPA), but later given clean bill of health by the court after he served his term at the prison.

George is one of the delegates appointed by the president, at the National Conference.

In his tweeter handle, Special Adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, said the appointment was with immediate effect.

Jonathan had appointed Mrs. Bode-George as a federal commissioner in the National Population Commission (NPC) in 2011.
