An angry mob on Monday in Ondo State set a woman on fire on the suspicion that she was a kidnapper.
The incident occurred on Oluseyi Street in Ondo town.
It was gathered that the woman, well known to be a lunatic in the area, was accused of kidnapping a pupil of a public primary school in the town.
It was said that Aya-Baba, as she was popularly called, was always noticed at a dump site located in the area, but was sighted on Monday morning attempting to kidnap a little boy.
Her moves, it was gathered, attracted some youths around the area, who interrogated her and got her to confess to the crime.
Eyewitnesses said the woman, who was found with Blackberry and Nokia phones, confessed that she came from Osogbo, Osun State to Ondo State.
She was said to have begged for her life and appealed to the people to hand her over to the police, but the angry mob would not accept her pleas.
They immediately set her ablaze and waited to watch her burn to death.
Although the police later arrived at the scene, they, however, could not save the woman.
The policemen from Funmbi Fagun Division also had a hard time trying to ensure that there was no further breakdown of law and order as people kept expressing their anger.
The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Funbi Fagun Police Division, Ondo town, Mr. Emmanuel Okorie, told our Newsmen that the report of the incident would be forwarded to the state command headquarters in Akure, the Ondo State capital, for proper investigation.
Meanwhile, in Osun State, another angry mob burned two suspected kidnappers to death in Ikire on Monday.

One of the victims was said to have been accosted at NUD Primary School, Sango in the Irewolede Local Government Area by some residents who were said to have suspected that the victim had kidnapped a child.
The deceased was said to have made an attempt to flee when he was challenged by the residents. The mob, which had gathered, caught up with him and roasted him after he had been beaten to a coma.
It was also gathered that the second suspected kidnapper was nabbed at the Isale Total area of Apomu.
Residents of the town, who spoke with our correspondent on the telephone, said the second suspected kidnapper confessed to the crime.
