SEX SCANDAL: French First Lady hospitalized

FRENCH

She was admitted to hospital a week ago after allegations the socialist leader was cheating on her with actress Julie Gayet, 41

French First Lady Valerie Trierweiler took “one pill too many” because President Francois Hollande wanted to ditch her, it was claimed last night.

She was admitted to hospital a week ago after claims the socialist leader was cheating on her with actress Julie Gayet, 41.

A source told France’s Le Point magazine: “She took a pill too many, however, she never wanted to attempt suicide.”

The report alleged Mr Hollande, 59, was “cold and ruthless” when he confessed to the affair.

It was also claimed Mr Hollande wanted Ms Trierweiler, 48, to sign an agreement announcing their separation but her spell in hospital thwarted him.

He has yet to visit her and has instead sent “chocolates and flowers”.

Meanwhile, it was claimed last night that Mr Hollande started a relationship with Ms Gayet a year before he became president.

Closer magazine, which broke news of the scandal a week ago, said the romance started at far back as 2011.

Mr Hollande refused to comment at a press conference this week but said he would do so before his visit to the US on February 11.
