Men of the Joint Military Task Force, JTF, in Yobe State, on Wednesday night, raided a training camp of suspected Boko Haram insurgents in Majari village, Gujba Local Government Area and arrested four persons.
Spokesman for the JTF, Lt. Lazarus Eli, in a statement yesterday, said security forces stormed the terrorists’ combat training camp at about 11pm following a tip-off, adding that several arms, ammunition and bomb-making materials were recovered at the scene.
“At about 23hrs on Wednesday, men of the JTF raided the camp of suspected terrorists in Majari village, close to Buni Yadi, the headquarters of Gujba Local Government Area. Our personnel succeeded in apprehending four suspects in the camp,” the statement said.
According to Lt. Eli, items recovered include; police anti-riot gun, a pistol, dane gun, 43 teargas canisters, assorted bomb -making materials and 200 rounds of ammunition.
Others were two police uniforms, 13 military kit pads, four police berets, police helmet, boots, one Isuzu pick up van, 10 motorcycles, one laptop and one desk top computer.
The statement further explained that the pickup van was covered with a specially prepared mud to avoid spotting it from a distance while the exhaust was compressed not to make a loud noise.
The task force appealed to members of the public to cooperate with security operatives in the state by providing useful information on suspicious movements in their respective areas.
